about

The influence of the film, Boys Don't Cry, was heavy on me for this album. And the daily bus ride from San Francisco to Oakland. And really, the weight of my own impending transition, having realized I couldn't take my current life any farther than I had.

lyrics

This don't mean I don't love you anymore
The fact that my face keep changing
This don't mean I don't love you anymore,
The fact that I don't die

The city sighed with the hit of a fist
The little boy stand very still as he shake
The city sighed with the hit of a fist
And the signs of tomorrow take shape

You know I'm sick to my stomach
in this rocky bus ride to the edge of the state
You know I'm sick to my stomach
as we rush to quit the state
. . . .yeah, well I wouldn't be surprised

This don't mean I don't love you anymore
The fact that my face keep changing
This don't mean I don't love you anymore,
The fact that I don't die

The city sighed with a slap to the face
The little girl bites her tears to the sun
The city sighed with a slap to the face
Slow construction of the things to come

You know I'm sick to my stomach
in this rocky bus ride to the edge of the state
Half a tank left, the road stops, the map cut off
The sky darkens
We wait.
